Saab is apparently still testing the upcoming 9-5. The brand’s future is still (yes, still…) up in the air. Is this a sign that GM is coming close to making a deal with Spyker? The details are not yet known, but sources have said the two parties are approaching an agreement. (more…)
Cadillac has unveiled the XTS flagship sedan at the Detroit Auto show this week. The XTS is expected to replace the STS and DTS as Cadillac’s premium luxury offering. It is a combination of Cadillac’s new signature looks, technology features and a plug-in hybrid system.
The XTS concept’s hybrid drivetrain will feature a 3.6-L V-6 with direct injection. The batteries can take a full charge from a standard wall outlet. Periods of purely electric propulsion will be possible for the XTS, drastically increasing fuel economy. The combination of gas engine and electric motor are estimated to produce about 350 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque to provide an exciting driving experience.
A luxuriously comfortable, yet aggressively sport ride is provided, thanks to Magnetic Ride Control. Sensors monitor the position of the vehicle relative to the road every millisecond. Electronically controlled magneto-rheological fluid in the shock dampers actively smooth out the road while providing excellent grip and stability.

Chevy has introduced yet another uninspiring concept into the small car segment with the RS version of the Aveoooooh! Dude… did you see those pictures? Ok, I take it back. That’s actually a pretty gnarly looking hatchback. The RS has been given much more aggressive looks from the outside, and a performance and feature overhaul from top to bottom. Chevy is targeting a young generation of enthusiasts looking to get some bang for their buck in an economy that has, once again pointed a spot light at the compact car.
Let’s start from the outside. Designers of the RS concept have ditched the typical bland (what I call jellybean-shaped) body style found on so many modern compacts (current Aveo included). Aluminum accented exposed headlights, a sleek roof line and wider stance, rear spoiler, chrome exhaust tips, big body colored brake calipers and, get this – 19″ wheels!
From the creators of People of Walmart, I present… You Drive What? For those of you not familiar with user supported blogs such as these, the basic idea is that the readers submit photos and captions of odd people, places, and well, cars – for the whole world to see… and LOL at. Made famous by forerunners like the ICHC network, this type of humor has exploded throughout the interwebs in recent history.
Most of these sites get hundreds of user submitted pictures, captions, videos and comments every day. I make sure to check a handful of these blogs on a daily basis for a hearty dose of ROFL. Upon arriving home from work, I treat myself to funny cats, celebrities, politicians, failers, shoppers, bombers, drivers, and now one of my favorite things… cars. There’s nothing like laughing HARD after an unsatisfying day of work, thanks to continuous flow of LOL WUT? Enjoy the HAHAHAHAHA!
According to Wrecked Exotics, the driver may have fallen asleep, causing the R8 to to skewer itself from end to end. I don’t know about you but those pictures give me the heebie jeebies. I mean, the last time I fell asleep behind the wheel all I did was mow down three mailboxes and a wandering goat. Well, that was the time in Italy. I did hit a Cardinal once in Ohio – poor guy skewered my grill but didn’t make it past the radiator. Gosh I’m lucky.
