I know what you’re thinking – “I MUST have one!” Well, you’re in luck, because it’s for sale now on Jameslist. That’s right, this isn’t just your everyday el-cheapo craigslist Toyota couch. It’s got extremely low miles and a manual gearbox, which, you know is going make movie watching much more thrilling. I had a Ford couch back in college with an automatic… not nearly as fun, but decent in the snow. $5,500 will get you this 2010 model in bright yellow, with what appears to be black leather. If that’s out of your league, you may still be in luck. There have been rumors that Lamborghini will introduce a love seat in the 2011 model year. A British artist by the name of Benedict Radcliffe has created some amazing works of automotive wireframe art. Back in 2007, he replicated the silhouette of a Subaru WRX. In 2008, he spent over four months designing and fabricating another hollow model in the form of a Lamborghini Countach.
As an architect, Radcliffe put his design and fabrication skills to the test on the Lamborghini project, and hopes his efforts will produce a financial reward. I’m amazed by people who can visualize something like this and produce it by hand. Using paper and pencil or CAD software to design an object is one thing, but physically bending members in three-dimensional space can be extremely challenging.
This one-of-a-kind work of art is for sale to anyone willing to pay £40,000 ($64,828 U.S.) – a respectable income for around a half a year’s work.
